REFLECTION

The hands-on activity was very fun to create and I gained good experience creating a lesson that I can surely use with my future students.
Whenever I think of an activity that I might use in the classroom, I think of differentiated instruction ("How will I adapt the lesson to students who need help and for students who surpass my goals?"), NY State and Common Core Standards ("Am I creating a quality lesson that is aligned with what students are supposed to know at this level of learning?"), and best teaching practices ("Activating prior knowledge, inspiring a sense of inquiry, problem-solving skills, guided practice, and the 5 E's").

It was also rewarding for our professor to help us through picking a good topic - it allowed us to think for ourselves without feeling completely stranded, and it made us think outside the box of what a regular non-traditional lesson would be like. All in all, I enjoyed creating and demonstrating this lesson with Microsoft PowerPoint, and I can see myself teaching it to my future students.
